ARUSHA
COFFEE LODGE

LOCATION: The
Lodge is 2 kilometers from Arusha Town and 01 kilometer
from Arusha Airstrip.
DESCRIPTION:
Arusha Coffee Lodge, the first 5 star establishment
in Arusha, is situated on the Burka Coffee Estate, a
working coffee plantation spanning 17 acres. With coffee
roasters and a fermentation plant, guests can observe
the roasting process, taste the coffee blends and purchase
fresh roasted beans.
Number of rooms:
21 private chalets. The chalets are built on raised
wooden platforms with multi-level bedrooms, private
lounges and huge balconies overlooking Mount Meru and
the plantation. Eight rooms contain king size beds and
13 contain twin (three-quarter, extra length) beds.
Triple rooms are available on request.
Room décor:
The interior décor of each chalet is designed
around a coffee theme such as Café Latte, Espresso
and Cappuccino.
Special features:
The honeymoon suite, the largest on the estate, is located
in the Old Stable block with an en-suite bathroom containing
a bath of luxurious proportions.
In- room amenities:
All the chalets have shower, bath and separate toilets,
a mini bar, room service, hair dryer, safe, coffee percolator,
tea and coffee caddy and a fireplace. In keeping with
the coffee theme, bathroom amenities include cappuccino-scented
soap. The rooms are also equipped with overhead ceiling
fans, mosquito nets and telephones with Internet adapters.

FACILITIES:
Meals are served at the neighboring Redds African Grill
house, with a menu that reflects an amazing array of
both traditional Tanzanian cuisine and other African
specialties. For the late-risers, a ‘breakfast
in bed’ option is available.

LAKE MANYARA TREE LODGE

LOCATION: The
Tree Lodge is situated in the remote southern tip of
Lake Manyara National Park. The Lake Manyara Tree Lodge
is located about 2 hours from the Manyara park gate.
Tarangire and Arusha are both located about 3.5 hours
from Lake Manyara Tree Lodge though in opposite directions.
Add about 1 hour to get from Arusha to Kilimanjaro.
DESCRIPTION: Lake Manyara
Tree Lodge is set in the heart of a mahogany forest,
and is the only lodge in the diverse Lake Manyara National
Park in northern Tanzania. It is the newest addition
to CC Africa’s portfolio of luxury safari lodges
on the northern Tanzanian safari circuit.

From soaring groundwater forests and a
tranquil lake, to the mountain escarpment of the Great
Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park boasts an incredible
wealth of habitats and diverse African wildlife. Guests
are offered an exciting, interpretive safari experience
in game-rich surrounds which include large herds of
elephant and buffalo. The Lodge, which was designed
to exert minimal impact on the environment, is situated
in the remote southwestern region of the Park.
NUMBER OF ROOMS:
Cradled in the boughs of mahogany trees, 10 stilted
tree house suites are a sophisticated blend of intimacy
and romance, offering privacy and exclusivity in cool,
leafy surrounds.
ROOM AMENITIES:
Each tree house suite features large windows to invite
the lush forest inside. The classically elegant rooms
are fitted with contemporary furnishings in neutral
colours and textures. Bedrooms have overhead fans, mosquito
nets and earthy, understated features
ROOM DECOR:
The rooms are very spacious and bathrooms are especially
well done with large bathtubs and even an outdoor shower.
Furnishings and decorations are contemporary and abstract.
Each tree house has its own private viewing deck with
a comfortable sitting area and spectacular forest views.
Falling asleep surrounded by the noises of the jungle
will surely be one of the highlights for guests. Service
is also second to none as your own private butler is
on call for the duration of your stay to mix martinis
or serve dinner on your private veranda.
Special Feature:
Lake Manyara is a beautiful little park made famous
by its tree-climbing lions. The park is home to an amazing
variety of birds and animals considering its small size.
A visit to this serene park will greatly diversify your
safari experience as the lush green jungle habitat is
of stark contrast to the other parks.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
FACILITIES: Overlooking a forest boma (outdoor
dining area), guest areas are soaring spaces housing
Dodoma artworks and tactile fabrics. An interactive
kitchen allows guests to observe the preparation of
delicious Pan-African cuisine which may be enjoyed in
the theatrical boma, on dining decks, or on your private
viewing deck with spectacular forest views. Breakfasts
and picnics are also served on the lakeshore. The food
and Tree Lodge is simply excellent. Breakfast is very
good and is usually served buffet style in the open
dining terrace. Breakfast consists of a large assortment
of fruits, cereals, breads, and eggs served to your
order. However, if you wish, your butler is happy to
serve you either breakfast in bed or on your private
veranda. The best option for lunch is to arrange a private
picnic down by the lakeshore where hopefully there is
lots of hippo action and thousands of flamingos. Alternatively,
lunch is also offered at the lodge but we highly recommend
opting for a serene picnic. Dinner is quite a production
and a fairly formal affair. Once again, you always have
the choice to have a more private and romantic meal
in the comfort of your room or on your private veranda.
There is a good variety of beer, wine and cocktails
available .
GENERAL FACILITIES: There
is a magnificent open-plan guest area with an intimate
and cozy atmosphere overlooking the forest boma, with
enough seating for 20 people. Dodoma carvings, African
artefacts and sumptuous fabrics and prints are framed
by banana-fibre ceilings and wood-panelled walls. There
is also a stylish lap pool and a crafts gallery, which
features a good selection of community craftwork.

CLIMATE: Tropical conditions
with the plateau being relatively hot during the day
and cool at night. During the months of June and September,
it is much cooler. However, from March to May there
is a series of “Long Rains”, and the “Short
Rains” are experienced during October and December.
The hottest months are between October and February.
LAZY LAGOON

LOCATION: Lazy
Lagoon lies in the Zanzibar Channel offshore from mainland
Bagamoyo, the capital of German East Africa and the
'gateway to the Dark Continent'.
DESCRIPTION:
Not only can it boast 9km (5.6 miles )of deserted beach,
but it is also a natural reserve home to many small
mammals, mangrove trees and patches of indigenous forest.
An idyllic Robinson Crusoe Island, the perfect way to
start or end a safari. Being on the coast, Lazy Lagoon
enjoys a truly tropical climate. There is no best time
to visit and the lodge remains open all year round.
Bagamoyo means 'lay down your heart' a
relic of the slave trade as this was the exit port for
many thousands of Tanzanians who left their hearts in
their homeland. Broaden your outlook on the splendours
of Tanzania with a visit to the old town and Kaole Ruins
to glimpse the not so glorious past.

Food is abundant and varied. Breakfast is a choice of

two course meal prepared to your order. Dinner is three
course menu with a variety of seafood, meat and vegetarian
dishes.

was the centre of the 19th century slave trade. The
name Bagamoyo is derived from the Swahili bwaga moyo
,which means "to lose hope" or "where

MBALAGETI
SERENGETI CAMP

in the western corridor of the Serengeti national park
in Tanzania. Entering from the Mwanza-musoma highway,
through the Ndabaka gate (1.5hrs) or from Naabi gate
from Arusha side (3hrs). the drive is a true game experience
with rich wildlife.
DESCRIPTION:
Mbalageti Serengeti is situated on the Mwamyeni hill
and offers panorama view of the Serengeti plain lands
and the Mbalageti river. With its unparalled opportunities
for wildlife viewing and seeing Africa at its most untamed,
the Serengeti National park offers the beauty and synchrony
of nature to be appreciated as few places. The Name
originates from the name of the river, which can be
seen from all angles of the Mwamnevi Mountain where
the Mbalageti Serengeti is situated.

Rooms’ décor
AND amenities: All rooms are beautifully decorated
in a modern design for a feeling of comfort and have
ensuite bathrooms and a small veranda. There are a few
standards rooms for the budget traveller, then there
are the tented chalets for a true lush safari experience,
12 of the 24 luxury tented chalets are set on each side
of the hill and have a structure of local rock and wood,
they are canvas fitted and offer a perfect way of relaxing
after a day of game viewing. All chalets have a bathroom
with all the luxury amenities and are designed with
attention to the smallest detail. Pamper yourself in
the bath and enjoy a spectacular view. The Chalets are
furnished and finished to make the stay as comfortable,
special and memorable as can be. The private Veranda
with its cooling thatch roof is a private oasis and
works as an extension of your bedroom in the wild.
The Exclusive suites have a little extra
of everything and a private outdoor bath right in the
wild. Being spacious and with two ensuite bedrooms,
lounge and veranda and all the luxurious items you may
wish for, the suites are nature and luxury in perfect
harmony in design and comfort and are just perfect for
the more exclusive traveller.
Comfort is not compromised in any way
by being under canvas. These tents are spacious and
stylish. The specially designed structure provides excellent
protection from insect ingress, with screens on the
windows and doors. Roll down canvas blinds shut out
the elements at night, providing a really cozy environment
in which to lie and listen to the sounds of the bush.

A safari should be a very aesthetic experience and the
people behind the creation of this camp have really
thrown everything into creating the ultimate- Integrating
style and comfort without detracting from the bush experience
can be a difficult thing to achieve ... this one is
good.

served in the restaurant. They also have the finest
cuisine with Serengeti as panorama. The dedicated chefs
serve meals with influences from the Serengeti environment

and is the natural meeting place and heart of the lodge.
A wide range of local and imported products are available.

hot during the day, nights can be chilly. Rains occur

MATEMWE BUNGALOWS

drive from Stone Town.

Here, in harmony with the environment and in co-operation
with the local people, Matemwe Bungalows was built to
offer you a perfect mix of relaxation and excitement.
The rural northeast coast of Zanzibar is well known
for its fine weather and natural beauty. That's why
we call it the Sunny Side of Paradise. After years of
loving care the garden of Matemwe Bungalows forms a
small oasis in this otherwise dry scrub bush land.

All the rooms, as well as the restaurant are directly
overlooking the Indian Ocean. You can enjoy the comings
and goings of the local ngalawa fishing fleet from the
comfort of your private veranda or from the restaurant.
Room amenities:
The eight self-contained rooms and six suites have lighting
and hot water both powered by the sun. All rooms have
private verandas where you can laze in your own hammocks.
Although mosquitos are rare in Matemwe, all rooms are
equipped with a large mosquito net. The suites have
large king-size beds especially suited for honeymooners.
An extra single bed makes them also suitable for small
families.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE FACILITIES:
The restaurant is situated in the main thatched lodge
area. Such is the pleasant vibe at Matemwe, that guests
often move their tables together. If you want a particularly
romantic evening, you can dine on the beach (only two
couples a night though) while sitting on reed matting
and cushions. If you're booked in the Asali honeymoon
suite, you'll probably opt to have meals brought to
you by the suite's dedicated chef.
Swahili recipes are used in combination
with fresh, local ingredients, so you'll taste authentic
Zanzibar cuisine. The menu changes daily and includes
options of fish, chicken or red meat with vegetarian
dishes available on request.
Breakfast consists simply of fresh fruit,
bread, cakes and fruit juices.
Seafood is the specialty of the house,
with all produce bought daily from the local markets.
Lunch is a buffet offering a delicious mix of African
and European flavors. Dinner offers a choice of main
courses between meat, fish and vegetarian. Our barbeque
of meat and fish is particularly popular. The "catch
of the day" might actually be yours!
For the early birds the sunrise is a sight to savor.
Early morning, tea and/or coffee will be served at your
veranda. In the evening, the full moon rising out of
the sea is a wonderful romantic experience you're not
likely to forget. On moonless nights gaze and get lost
in the star-filled sky. Our new open-air bar under the
palm trees on the sand is a peaceful retreat.

For those who need to keep in contact with the world
outside, we offer internet and telephone/fax facilities
in out main building. Televisions still didn't make
it into Paradise.

SEASONS/CLIMATE:
Matemwe Bungalows is open all year. In July the weather
is cool and windy, the winds dropping steadily during
August. By November it is generally calm and pleasantly
hot. The short rains fall late November / early December.
This can be an ideal time to visit Matemwe Bungalows
as it is low season and usually quiet. In 'winter',
the weather is hot and dry with a cool sea breeze. April
brings heavy rains.
