DESCRIPTION:
The setting for E Unoto Retreat is straight out of a
"Hemingway" novel, nestled against the Great
Rift Escarpment. This luxurious lodge has a unique "Tanzanian
Maasai Boma" configuration.
NUMBER OF ROOMS:
25 spacious bungalows
ROOM DÉCOR:
Featuring an internal diameter -28 feet/9.24m. Four
of the bungalows are honeymoon suites and four are specially
designed to accommodate handicapped guests. Overlooking
Lake Miwaleni, the external surface of the rooms have
a Maasai boma appearance, with a unique, exquisite,
internal decorative Maasai theme.
RECREATIONAL FACILITIES:
Bird watching and Stargazing
Maasai guides are able to provide guests with hikes
for true nature experiences in this secluded area of
Tanzania. This is a haven for bird watchers with more
than 350 species of birds native to the area. The lodge
has telescopes and binoculars for viewing birds and
animals around the lodge and in the distant. Cultural
presentations are provided at the lodge for the guests
to enjoy and even participate in if they choose.
Mountain Bicycling, Nature walks, Cultural/Tribal
village visits
A stay at E Unoto Retreat is not only a holiday visit
but also an adventure and experience of its own kind.
Apart from the luxurious bungalows, beautiful swimming
pool and great services from the well-trained Maasai
staff, we offer great outdoor recreational activities.
These can be quite educational, informative and entertaining.
NOTE: When going
for any of the following activities, it is advisable
to bring cameras, binoculars, bug repellant, sunscreen,
hats, sunglasses and any personal items you may need.
Guided Nature walk to the water falls
- 2½ to 3 hours, moderate exertion.
This trek is a natural trail where you will have a chance
to see the indigenous plant species and learn how important
they are to the Maasai in regards to their uses of roots,
barks, leaves and fruits.

While at E Unoto Retreat you can use the lodge as your

Circuit National Parks. Rest assured that you will be
returning to your comfortable “home away from

Scenic Flights
If you want to see the beautiful Tanzania countryside,
E Unoto Retreat can arrange for you and your group to
see it from the open sky. Take a flight from one destination
to another, or make flying the focus of your adventure.
Horseback Riding
See the natural environment close up and at your own
pace. Whether it is a day trip or a week excursion,
E Unoto Retreat can arrange for your own horse through
our neighboring, Farasi Safaris as part of your safari.
On this guided expedition, you can explore the Rift
Valley, Rift Escarpment, Maasai plains or the unique
Maasai Bomas. You can even go shopping in the little
town of Mto wa Mbu by horseback. Farasi Safaris horses
can accommodate riders of any age and skill level.
CONFERENCE FACILITIES:
Conference Center may be booked for meetings, weddings,
celebrations, trainings, workshops, etc. It is equipped
with modern tools and can house up to 50 guests for
most events.

KIRURUMU TENTED CAMP

LOCATION: At
Lake Manyara, approximately 74 miles (2.5 hours) from
Arusha, 3 miles from Lake Manyara airstrip which connects
easily scheduled flights, 6 miles from the gate to Lake
Manyara National Park, 40 miles (1.7 hours) from Tarangire
NP and 35 miles (1.5 hours) from the edge of Ngorongoro
Crater.
DESCRIPTION:
This is a permanent tented camp, built on the Gregorian
Escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. Set in this stunning
location, it overlooks a spectacular panorama across
Lake Manyara to Mount Losimongori and miles of seemingly
untouched Africa. Kirurumu Tented Lodge is extremely
unobtrusive, rustic and has been designed to compliment
the Eco-system. The main building and a few of the accommodation
tents have a fantastic view of the valley below. Impact
on the Lodge’s surroundings has been absolutely
minimal, all utility lines are carefully placed underground
and hot water is created by solar panels.
NUMBER OF ROOMS:
The lodge has a total of 20 tented rooms (of which 2
are for honeymooners).
Room Décor:
The tented rooms are very basic and well spaced from
the others. The lower number tents have views facing
out onto the valley, whilst the rest face the gardens.
Each tent has a wooden veranda, with armchairs and table,
which is fantastic to sit on and view the sunset. Each
tent is protected from the direct sun by a thatched
roof. The tent bases are made from local volcanic stone
and the roofs are thatched, blending into the environment.
Room amenities: The tents are fully furnished and comfortable
with twin or double beds, interior furnishing, e.g.:
desk, chair, luggage rack etc, en suite facilities (flush
toilet, shower, wash-hand basin). The tents are insect-proof
but have NO mosquito nets.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE FACILITIES:
Thatched dining room offering a wonderful view. The
service is attentive and the large bar has a friendly
atmosphere and a great view over the lake and valley.

LAKE MANYARA HOTEL

Lake Manyara, approximately 130 km (2 hours) by road
from Arusha130 kms

than 30 minutes by air to the Manyara airstrip located
just 5 minutes from the hotel and served by scheduled
flights.
DESCRIPTION:
On the escarpment overlooking Lake Manyara National
Park, set against the sides of the Rift Valley, which
here forms a spectacular escarpment sloping some 300
meters. The park contains a very dense equatorial forest
and a remarkable concentration of wildlife. They say
that the lions here are perched on trees, while countless
colonies of pink flamingos, pelicans and thousands of
other lake-dwelling birds flap and splash amid hippos.
Built 1,400 meters above sea level on the western escarpment
of the huge Rift Valley, Lake Manyara Hotel overlooks
the glassy lake of the Manyara National Park.
