Bombolulu Cultural Centre - Mombasa Kenya

Our minibuses pick you up from your hotel and drive you north of Mombasa for the small town of Bombolulu about 4 kilometers from the main Island of Mombasa and the Cultural Centre with its varied attractions. This centre was founded in 1969 and is a project of the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK). The center trains and employs over 150 persons with disabilities in handicraft production and related business skills. The Cultural Centre portrays the Kenyan way of life as it existed in the past and as it still exists in many remote areas of Kenya.

All hand crafted products manufactured by gifted artisans are displayed in a showroom where visitors are able to purchase high quality products. Fair prices enable the Centre to continue to develop the full potential of the workforce. The exciting songs and dance are “an experience to remember” and a visit to the homesteads which exposes Kenyan culture, Traditional dance, music and theatre at its very best is a “must see!”

Screen printed kikois (traditional Swahili wear), shopping bags and many other fashion accessories and unique carvings handcrafted by disabled artisans are available from this unique center that is a favorite of the traveler. Also available at the Center are delicious African specialties from Ziga Restaurant within the grounds of this cultural village.

Ngomongo Village Tour

Experience the mystery
This tour takes you to an abandoned murram quarry reclaimed into a lush forest over a period of ten years. Integrated in the created forest are 10 diverse rural Kenya tribal households built and reconstructed using traditional building materials of the various tribes. Among some of the events you will engage in are: -

• Meet the “Maasai” warrior and cattle lover and join in ceremonial jumping competition.
• The “Mkamba” man will intoxicate you with honey brew “Muratina” and then teach you archery.
• The colourful “Luo” man will take you on a raft or you just enjoy hook fishing “Luo” style.
• Pounding and grinding maize “Kalenjin and “Kikuyu” style.

10 DAYS KENYA CULTURAL SAFARIS- CTS 009

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi/Mara
Depart Nairobi at 0830hrs and drive through the escarpment past Mount Longonot and mount Suswa to be in the Maasai Mara in the afternoon for a short walk around the camp after lunch and then proceed to the game drive at four in the evening.

Day 2: Maasai Mara - Walking - Game View
After breakfast we head off to hike up the hills near our camp returning for lunch. Late afternoon game drive.

Day 3: Maasai Mara - Game View
Whole day game viewing in the comfort of our vehicle to hunt for more game, which cannot be, approached on foot e.g. lion, elephants, buffaloes, leopard, cheetah and rhino.

Day 4: Maasai Mara - Mt. Longonot/Hells Gate
Leave Maasai Mara after breakfast driving to the foot of Mount Longonot where we hike to the crater before proceeding to Naivasha for our night stay.

Day 5: Hells Gate - Trek
Depart for the walk in helgate national park. We will walk the gorge down a dry riverbed to the boiling sulphurous springs. Late afternoon we hike up the vulture inhabited cliffs of Hells Gate National Park.

Day 6: Hells Gate - L. Nakuru
Drive to Lake Nakuru to view the flamingoes and wildlife with the overnight spent in the comfort of a hotel within town.

Day 7: Nakuru - Samburu
Your drive past Mt. Kenya with its spectacular views of some of the peaks of the mountain (if it’s a clear day) before driving to Samburu Game Reserve. You arrive late in the afternoon for dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 8: Samburu - Game view -Tribal Walk
Early morning game drive is followed by breakfast. After breakfast you have a short game drive before lunch. Late afternoon tribal walks with Samburu Warriors who will be happy to share with you about their culture and life style.

Day 9: Samburu - Mt. Kenya
Early Morning game drive is followed by breakfast before driving to Mt. Kenya, for lunch and overnight at Naromoru River Lodge.

Day 10: Mt. Kenya -Nairobi
We will drop off those doing Mt. Kenya climb at the park gate and the rest will drive to Nairobi arriving before lunch. B

Minumum 2 pax but can customized should the number of travelers exceed to reduce the price.
