DESCRIPTION: Chale Island is a small romantic island situated about 600 meters from the mainland and 10 km south of Diani on the Kenya coast.
It is a nature reserve with a white, sandy beach, tropical rainforest, a wealth of animals, bird life and sulphur springs.

Room Décor: Chale Island Paradise is mostly furnished with african/arabic antiques.
The tented bungalows are makuti thatched and have their own little sunbathing beach. They are situated directly on the seafront and on the pool.

Room Amenities: It's roomy and elegant tented bungalows and apartments have a combined living and bedroom, a shower and toilet, and a separate terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE FACILITIES: Two restaurants offer local and international cuisine with fresh seafood direct from the Indian Ocean. The possible meal plans consist of Bed/Breakfast, half board or full board arrangements
The Japanese restaurant is the only one of its kind on the coast. Gourmets will love the 'live' preparation of food while enjoying the cozy atmosphere
The main restaurant is well known for its balanced buffets during all meal times. It caters for vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians. A-la-Carte menus are also available.

CLIMATE: At the sea level with tropical climate, Feb-March are the hottest months and May-June-July are the coolest. Temperatures range between 20o - 36o and the air is mostly humid.

Health Spa : This Spa is operated by the Gingko Spa Group. THE DRIFTWOOD BEACH CLUB

LOCATION: The Driftwood Beach club is situated on the beautiful Silver sands beach, 3km south of Malindi town centre, and about a 5 minute drive from the Malindi airport. Malindi is located on the shores of the Indian Ocean, approximately 120kms north of Mombasa.

DESCRIPTION: The Driftwood has been operating for over 30 years and is a favorite of upcountry Kenya residents. Many Malindi residents have made the Driftwood their ‘club’, allowing them use of the hotel facilities. This creates a fantastic atmosphere, giving overseas visitors a chance to mingle with locals, many who are second or third generation Kenyan. The Club is small and privately owned and is able to live by it’s logo; “Informality at its Best”. The Driftwood is ideal for family holidays, many whom return year after year.

ROOM AMENITIES: The majority of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms and every room has a mosquito net over the beds. 9 rooms have a seaview and the other rooms are spread out in tropical gardens a short walk away from the beach.

There are two luxury cottages situated in a private walled garden with their own swimming pool. Each cottage has two double en-suite bedrooms with a living room and veranda overlooking the pool. Sea view rooms have tea and coffee delivered outside their rooms in the morning. Cots can be supplied on request

A new addition to the Driftwood is three luxury self-catering villas situated in secluded private premises directly behind the club with a private swimming pool. Two of the villas have 2 double air-conditioned bedrooms and one villa has a third single room. Each villa has its own kitchen, living/dining room and veranda overlooking the swimming pool. Guests can, if they so wish, make full use of the Driftwood facilities and if they prefer not to do their own catering, dine at the Driftwood Beach club.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE FACILITIES: The main dining room and bar overlook the Indian Ocean. Our restaurant offers a choice between table d’hôte and a la carte menus, as well as daily specials offering a wide variety of fresh seafood. During the day we offer a snack menu at the poolside. The attractive dining room lends itself to both large groups or small and the catering team are able to produce a delicious meal to your specification. Sample menus are available on request or just talk to the management staff who will organize your special requirements
